• With lots of high-efficiency stoves, fireplaces, and furnaces, it is more important than ever to burn the correct kind of wood. The wood you burn affects the efficiency of heat being put off, along with the safety of your wood burner.
  • The ideal kinds of wood are hardwoods like oak, cherry, ash, or hard maple. It is also to be noted, that the wood needs to be split, and stored correctly with only the top covered, for a year. Leaving the sides open will allow airflow to move through. Ideally, the moisture level should be 15% or less. Split your wood no larger than 5-6” in diameter. Taking these precautions will ensure your wood will be good to burn without any worries.
