SAFETY CHECKLIST
When inspecting your fireplace, stove, or even chimney, it is important to be sure all of the following items have been checked. Having proper working order, ensures a safe and warm winter season.
- Are the chimney and stove pipe clean?
- Are the baffles in good condition?
- Are the firebricks in good condition?
- Is the door gasket sealing tight?
- Are the flue tiles cracked in the chimney?
- Does the clean-out door seal tight?
- Is there a flue cap on the chimney?
- Is the stove pipe in good condition?
- Is there any glass that appears cracked or broken?
- Is the wood you’re using below 15% moisture content?
- Do you have a fire extinguisher near by and working?
- Is a CO2 detector present and in working order?
