About Coalway – Ohio’s Premier Fireplace Store

Coalway of Apple Creek has humble roots, starting in 1997 as a small, family-run operation selling coal out of a barn. As demand grew, it became clear that customers needed more than just fuel—they needed stoves to burn it. This realization sparked the launch of Coalway’s hearth division, setting the foundation for what would become a trusted name in home comfort.

Throughout the early 2000s, the business steadily grew. The owner eventually left his full-time job to dedicate himself fully to Coalway, and in 2007, a new retail store was built in Apple Creek to better serve the growing customer base. With the new space came new opportunities—most notably, the introduction of BBQ products, which quickly became a natural complement to the hearth side of the business.

Not long after, Coalway expanded again by offering outdoor poly furniture, officially creating the Outdoor Living category. This addition rounded out the store’s product offerings, making it a one-stop destination for homeowners looking to upgrade both indoor and outdoor spaces.

We ordered a vented gas stove from Milan in June. We came from West Virginia because of their selection, quality, and customer service. The stove arrived in July and they were very patient while we took longer than we should have to pick it up. Once we took delivery I am tackling the task of installing it myself. I’ve had several questions and they are alway courteous and quick to help. I wasn’t set on which vent pipes I’d need and had to order different pieces than what I received with the original purchase. They were very understanding and quick to ship out what I needed. Overall I am extremely happy with their customer service and the product. Milan was great to work with as well.
